4025 31st Street South • St. Petersburg, Florida

A dictionary defines materialism as “a theory that physical matter is the only or fundamental reality.” It is also sometimes attached to the belief that human worth is measured only by money and material possessions.
Materialism places limits on our thinking. But, says John Tyler, we can go beyond these false “chains” and overcome material limitations. Through the practice of prayer and the understanding that reality has a spiritual basis and by actively loving others, we can expand, enrich and bring healing power into our lives.
Tyler’s talk will be based on study of the Bible and the healings and overcomings in the life of Jesus. His presentation will also incorporate ideas from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, a book by Mary Baker Eddy. His aim is to outline practical ways to replace materialistic thinking with spiritual understanding that can be applied to situations in every day life.
The presentation will be preceded by music and followed by light refreshments.
